I’ve always seen videos on YouTube and blog posts about this topic and I finally wanted to give it a try! It’s always sectioned off into topics, such as Makeup, Skincare, Body, and Lifestyle. I’m just going to share my favorite things of the month and will put them under the topic they fall under!
#1 Anastasia Beverly Hills Lipgloss
In the beginning of the month, I got two lipglosses from Anastasia Beverly Hills during the Sephora sale. I got the shades Carmel and Sunscape! Both are very pigmented and last a long time. For $16 a piece, it’s not a bad price for the quality and amount of product. The formula is rich and I love how the colors look on me. I know I’m going to get more colors from Anastasia! The company offers a wide variety of colors that will fit a variety of skin tones. I highly recommend to everyone!

#2 Letter Board
I got this Black Letter Board with Gray Trim from Target! I got it for my new apartment and I have been loving it. I’ve had two different messages so far; “Work Smarter, Not Harder” and “Do More of What Makes You Happy.” I find both messages incredibly inspiring and I smile every time I look at my board. I have it mounted above my dresser across from my bed, so it’s one of the first things I see every morning. I have it there so I can wake up in a good mood and want to go for the day! There are tons of letters so I can change the message as much as I want. I love the customization option. For October, the board is going to read: “It’s Time to Get Spooky.” (Can you tell I’m excited for Halloween?)
You can find this letter board at any Target, priced at $12.99. I believe it is worth the price because it’s high quality and will last a long time. It’s one of those decorations that will change with the seasons and never go out of style. You can find it online here!
#3 The Fosters TV Show
Synopsis from IMDb: “Stef Foster and Lena Adams, a lesbian couple, have a family of adopted, biological, and foster children. Mariana and Jesus are adopted 15-year-old twins and Brandon is Stef’s 16-year-old biological son from a previous marriage. Everything is going fine in the house until Callie and Jude arrive.”
My thoughts: Wow, this show has a lot! I’ve watched a few times since it aired (2013). This month, I’ve finished season one. All five seasons are on Netflix and you can binge them right now. I really like this show because they show so much diversity. They have discussions of drugs, underage drinking, LGBTQ, family, raising a family, and so much more. There is tons of drama that makes it so riveting. Sometimes I end up mumbling under my breath to the TV when the characters make decisions they shouldn’t. I think everyone would find something on the show that would appeal to them!
#4 Tombow Dual Brush Pens, Portrait Pack
As you know, I love bullet journaling. I find it relaxing and super organizing. Since it works for me so well, I love to spend time on it with great quality products to make the most beautiful and useful journal possible. During a Michael’s sale, my mom was amazing and picked up the Dual Brush Pen Portrait Pack from Tombow for me (thanks, Mom!). I’ve been using a lot of the colors in this pack for my October spread, which I plan and start during September. I think all of the colors are so diverse. I actually described them as “the colors that you don’t know you need until you have them.”
The markers are awesome and work for both pro bullet journalers and beginning ones. I highly recommend them to anyone who would need them, even if just for calligraphy or hand lettering (your Thank You Notes will thank you!). Michael’s is great because they always have sales and coupons. The pack was originally $26.99, but my fantastic mom was able to snag them for just $15. What a steal! You can find this pack (and others) online here.
#5 Trader Joe’s Smashing S’mores
I rarely indulge in desserts because I found eating healthy has changed my life for the better. But when I do want something sweet, I found this gem at Trader Joe’s. The Smashing S’mores are absolutely delicious. I grew up camping with my family all of the time, so this brings back a bunch of great memories of s’mores by the campfire and with family. You can microwave these treats so that the marshmallow is warm and gooey or you can eat it cold and enjoy it all the same. You can find them at any Trader Joe’s near you!
These are all of the things I’ve been obsessing over for the past month! I really enjoy all of these items and can’t wait to see what I fall in love with next month! Let me know in the comments if you liked the idea of doing Monthly Obsessions. Thank you so much for reading!
Love,
Kaitlin
