My August Favourites!

August has literally been a life-changing month. I moved several states away from where I grew up, I started a new job that I love, and I moved in with my best friend. Despite all of these changes, I was also able to continue trying and experiencing new things. I have a few more favourites this month, and I can’t wait to share them with you!

Idaho

I feel like this favourite goes without saying. I have been loving my new state. I have to drive around a lot for my job, and I get to see so much of the city. Boise is beautiful and full of so much nature. Everyone is kind and I’m so happy that I get to call this state my new home. Already I have experienced so many wonderful memories and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store! To everyone who helped me and supported me through this move, thank you. I wouldn’t have been able to do it with you!

Serpent and Dove Series

Serpent and Dove is one of those series where it’s an automatic cult favourite. I read it for the first time in 2020 and originally rated it four out of five stars. Now, having read it for a second time and reading the rest of the series, I can see how I was mistaken. This is a five out of five star read. Shelby Mahurin is a romantic genius and knows how to pull the heartstrings of the audience. I highly recommend this book to anyone who says they enjoy enemies to lovers romances. It’s a witch and a witch hunter having to get married, for Pete’s sake. It’s gold.

Outer Banks

I totally understand why this is such a cult favourite. The characters on this show are so hilarious and unique. I almost regret waiting to watch it as long as I did, but I’m also happy because I was able to enjoy the second season without having to wait for it. I couldn’t believe the cliff hanger of season one and two, but I think that it set it up nicely for the next few seasons! I can’t wait for the next season to come out!

Orange is the New Black

I started my rewatching of this show at the beginning of the month and I’m already on the third season. It’s almost a sort of comfort show for me because I used to watch it with my mom when it was first coming out. I love all of the characters on the show and love seeing how their stories are revealed throughout the timeline of the show. I can’t wait to officially finish this show and see how it all ends!

Book Box Subscriptions

This was the month to have a book box subscription. I received my first ever Illumicrate boxes, my first FairyLoot box, two different boxes from The Bookish Box, and signed up for a new one at the end of the month. I’m such a fan of book boxes because you get beautiful editions of popular books delivered right to your doorstep and get to support smaller creators and businesses! I highly recommend checking out the different book boxes available if you’re looking for something exciting and new!

These are all of my favourite things from the month of August! I’m so happy that I moved to Boise and get to experience living here. I’m so blessed to have this opportunity and I’m very grateful for everything that is yet to come. If you have any recommendations for me, please let me know in the comments! And, as always, thank you so much for reading!

Love,

Kaitlin
