The Best Binge-Worthy Shows!

Since it’s summer break, I have a bit of free time on my hands when I’m not working or working out. I like to spend my time reading (check out my post on the best summer reads!), hanging with friends, or watching shows on either Netflix or Hulu.

My favorite shows vary from genre to genre and availability depending on which website I am using. Right now, I’ve been using Netflix more just because there are no commercials and more of the shows I watch happen to be on that platform.

Netflix Shows

Drop Dead Diva: This is the show that I’ve been obsessed with lately! With six or seven seasons, this show is perfect for watching all day. The plot is riveting: a model dies in a car accident and ends up in a slightly overweight lawyer’s body. She has to deal with her new body, new brain, new job, and working with her old boyfriend. I haven’t finished the show yet but I hope she gets the guy!Screen Shot 2018-07-19 at 9.14.08 PM.png

Parks and Rec: This will always be one of my all-time favorite shows. If you’re about to start watching it, I suggest skipping the first couple episodes because they’re a bit slow and, in my opinion, not a good reflection of the entire show. It’s about a woman who works for the Parks and Recreation department in Pawnee, Indiana and all of her friends and her love life. It’s like The Office, but without Michael Scott shouting random phrases every couple seconds.

The Office: Like mentioned in the last post, this show is like Parks and Rec. It’s a classic and a great option for having something on in the background when doing something (like I’m doing right now as I’m writing this post!). There’s the love story of Jim and Pam, the interesting character of Michael Scott, the highly original cast of characters, and so much more to this amazing show. Every time I watch the finale of the last season, I cry (the ugly sobbing kind, of course). Also I would like to mention the PSA that Netflix is taking The Office off on January 1st 😦

Other amazing shows that I highly recommend are New Girl, Scandal, Gossip Girl, The Client List, and Pretty Little Liars. If you’re into crime shows, they have NCIS, Criminal Minds, and How to Get Away With Murder. I love all of these shows deeply and hope that they are on Netflix forever!

Hulu Shows

The Bachelorette: Oh, my God. I love this show. Since I don’t have cable, I have to wait until Tuesdays to watch the newest episode unless I attend a viewing party at a friend’s house. But, thanks to Hulu, I can watch the Bachelorette without worry and see the next guy get a rose or not. Comment below who you want to win!

New Girl: I mentioned this show a bit earlier but the only downside of Netflix is having to wait until a couple of months have past since the newest season aired and can be put on the site. With Hulu, I can watch the newest episode less than twenty-four hours after it’s aired, which I am a big fan of!

These are the shows I love to watch when I have the time. Each show makes me happy in their individual ways and make me laugh. Thanks to Hulu and Netflix, I can binge-watch these shows on weekends and enjoy the genius behind each one.

Thank you so much for reading and please leave a comment down below with your favorite shows!

Love,
