With college starting soon, I recently had to get all of my textbooks for school. This semester, I was happy because I got three textbooks I needed for super cheap! I wanted to share all of the websites I’ve found throughout the years because they’re a huge necessity.
Renting vs Buying
The first thing you need to consider when finding college textbooks is if you’re going to buy the books or just rent them for the semester/quarter. For all of my GE’s, I rented my textbooks because I knew I wouldn’t need them past my classes. For some of my business classes within my major, I actually bought the textbooks on marketing and accounting because I knew that I would use those past my class and after college.
Your College’s Bookstore
Sometimes the best deals are through your school! Two of my textbooks were rented through my bookstore because it was the cheapest deal I could find through all of my resources. You can usually either rent or buy through the bookstore.
Most of the time, buying textbooks from your school will be the most expensive option. But sometimes, like my experience this semester, my cheapest option was to rent books for the semester from my college.
Amazon
One of the most surprising things I found when searching for cheaper college textbooks was that Amazon has a rental bookstore! The third textbook that I got for my fall semester was from Amazon.com. There are plenty of good deals to find from Amazon and I have been using them for renting textbooks for the past three years! I can’t recommend them enough.
You can also purchase textbooks through Amazon.com (which I have also done in the past). There are definitely some cheaper prices compared to full-priced books that can be found at bookstores at any college campus.
Textbooks.com
This is another great option for renting or buying textbooks! This website sells used textbooks for a discounted rate! When deciding to either rent for a semester/quarter or buy a used book, you can compare the prices to Amazon.com and your college’s bookstore! It’s important to consider every option when finding which books you need for your semester and with the more knowledge you have, the better decision you can make!
These are the websites and places where I find the books I need. I hope that this helped you or someone in college! Thank you so much for reading and please leave a comment down below if you have any suggestions for websites that you have used.

Kaitlin
