In reflection of the past year, there were a lot of great things that I found. I have always had a big passion for makeup, ever since my junior year of high school, and I wanted to write about my favorites from 2018. There were so many amazing products that came out and I had to do them justice! Without further ado, here are the Top 10 of 2018 that I found myself reaching for every day.
BeautyBlender
I have three BeautyBlenders. The original Pink (which won an Allure Best of Beauty Award), the Blue Sapphire, and the Black Pro. Whenever I use foundation, I reach for them! I haven’t used a brush for my foundation in over a year. I am always so happy with how my foundation looks after using this sponge. I’ve been using the black one a lot recently just because the black color diminishes the color of my foundation, which makes it look less dirty. However, I also love my blue and pink sponge. When I go back to school, I’m definitely going to use all three of them equally and rotate them. I recommend the BeautyBlender for every level of makeup. Regardless of skill, I think everyone can use this tool to the best of their abilities and make their looks flawless. Find one for yourself from Sephora here and from Ulta here!
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb
One of the most iconic products from Rihanna’s line Fenty Beauty, I had to include it in this post! I adore both of my Gloss Bombs and always have them with me. I have Fenty Glow and Diamond Milk, which were the first two glosses released from the brand. Since then, Fenty Beauty has also come out with Fu$$y, a pinky nude. I tried it at a Sephora and didn’t like the color, which I wasn’t expecting. The other two shades, though, are sheer perfection. If I’m wearing a lot of makeup or no makeup at all, I’ll use them. Super shiny, super glam, they are a staple of my collection. Find them at Sephora right here!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Palettes
Back in June or July of 2018, I picked up the Soft Glam palette. For my birthday in November, I received the limited edition Sultry as a wonderful present. For Christmas (fun fact: a few days after Christmas, actually), my parents surprised me with Modern Renaissance, which was one of the best surprises ever. Ever since using these palettes, they have quickly become my favorites. The formulas of the shadows are incredible and the pigment is insane. Any other palette I use pales a bit in comparison. For a while now, these have been the eyeshadow palettes that have my attention and I think they will for a long time. I really recommend them, especially Modern Renaissance because there are a lot of shades that can create dozens of different looks. No matter your skill, you should pick up an Anastasia Beverly Hills palette from Sephora here or from Ulta here!
Hourglass Caution Mascara
Hourglass’s Caution Mascara is one of the best luxury mascaras that I’ve used. I used to be a die-hard fan of Too Faced’s Better Than Sex, but when I saw the packaging of Caution, I knew I had to try it. And I am so glad that I did! I’ve loved the volume I’ve gotten from this mascara and I use it every day. The only downside of this product is how expensive it is, coming in at a whopping $29 for one tube. For a college student with a part-time job, that’s a lot. I think it’s worth it, but the price point is higher than I would have liked. Nevertheless, I’ve loved this mascara and I’m happy with my choice. I’m sure I’ll repurchase this product, but I’m not sure when. Find it from Sephora here!

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
I picked up my foundation shade 120 around October of 2018. Since then, it has been my foundation of choice. Not to mention that this foundation has won an Allure Best of Beauty Award! With volleyball season over, I’ve been able to wear as much or as little makeup as I please. On my heavy makeup days, when I go all out, this is the foundation I reach for. I love the finish and the coverage of the formula. I also adore the shade range! On January 11, Fenty Beauty is adding ten more shades to the already-insane range. Every since the beginning of this company, they have always included everyone who wears makeup, which has revolutionized the community. Also, who doesn’t love Rihanna? Find the perfect shade of Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation here from Sephora!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter
This limited edition highlighter was originally released in early 2018 and sold out faster than anyone ever expected. By the time I had heard about it and wanted it, it was too late. I ended up finding a great highlighter from Fenty Beauty in the shades “Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal” which I was happy with. But, when Anastasia revealed that they were bringing it back for the Christmas 2018 season, I knew I had to grab it. On a shopping day with my friend Riley, I found it in a Sephora and grabbed it. In fact, there were only one or two left in the display so it was an easier choice to make sure I got it. And wow, am I glad that I did. The highlighter is amazing and compliments my skin tone perfectly. It gives a dewy look, which is to die for. Unfortunately, Sephora is officially sold out of it online but after some researching, I found that you can still grab one from AnastasiaBeverlyHills.com. Find it right here!
Tarte Park Ave Princess Chisel Palette
This has been a cult favorite ever since it came out! A bronzer/highlight palette with four bronzers (two mattes, two shimmers) and two matte highlights=a girl’s dream. The packaging is a gorgeous rose gold that looks amazing on my vanity. I also love the blendable formula because it’s really easy to achieve the contoured look without as much effort as other bronzers/contour might require. Like the previous product, this palette is out of stock from Sephora online. I did some digging and found that it’s still available from tartecosmetics.com. Grab one for yourself right here!

Anastasia Hills Clear Brow Gel
Another favorite of the beauty community! I find this product to be absolutely essential for everyone. My brows are bushy at times and the gel of this product really helps keep them tame. I’ve heard of people actually purchasing multiples so that they can have them around, like in their purse or in their car so that they can do touch-ups wherever they are. I really like that idea and recommend it to others! You can find this amazing gel right here from Sephora!

Rodan+Fields Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid
This isn’t your conventional beauty product and is fairly new. I have been raving about Rodan+Fields ever since I started this blog and I’m a huge fan of their products. When they came out with their Dermacosmetics, which is makeup inspired by skincare and is made to be great for your skin, I knew I wanted to try everything they had to offer. Their Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid is amazing and I use it all the time. On days I don’t want to wear my Fenty foundation, I reach for this! With six flexible shades to adapt to any skin tone, you can’t go wrong with it. It also has sunscreen and anti-aging technology within it so it helps your skin. Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Powder
This was actually the first product I picked up from Fenty Beauty besides the Gloss Bomb. Even on days when I don’t wear makeup, I like to use this product because it mattifies my skin perfectly and it looks so natural! With easy patting motions, I can cover my face with the powder and feel refreshed. I like keeping the compact with me so I can touch-up whenever I have to. You can find this product right here from Sephora! I like it a lot and highly recommend it.

These are my favorite beauty products of 2018! All of them were so great for me and so easy to use. I can tell that I’m going to be using a lot of these products for a very long time. If you have any questions about them, leave a comment down below! Thank you so much for reading!
