My Current Netflix & Prime Queue!

I haven’t had too much time to enjoy my shows for a while due to my incredibly busy schedule, but I try to find a bit of time here or there. I have a few shows on rotation right now to mix things up and keep it interesting! Some are new to me while some are classics that can always be rewatched. Here’s what I’m currently watching!

Bones

I have been a big fan of this show for several years. I remember watching the first episode when I was visiting family in Denmark! I loved it immediately and have never stopped rewatching it ever since. The plot lines are diverse and refreshing, while still falling back on favorite tropes of mine (mutual pining and slow-burn relationships). I really recommend this show to anyone who’s a fan of murder mysteries with a touch of science and anthropology! You can find it on Amazon Prime.

Summary: Forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan and cocky F.B.I. Special Agent Seeley Booth build a team to investigate murders. But both Agent Booth and Dr. Brennan and her team come up again with a variety of interference from red tape, corruption, and local noncooperation.

Psych

Another classic murder mystery show with a fun twist! This is a lesser-known show available on Amazon Prime (50% off for students with an .edu email!) that I’ve watched for a long time. I always find myself laughing while watching; this show has some of the wittiest dialogue around. I definitely think anyone with a silly sense of humor will genuinely enjoy this show!

Summary: A novice sleuth is hired by the police after he cons them into thinking he has psychic powers which help solve crimes. With the assistance of his reluctant best friend, the duo take on a series of complicated cases. Shawn and his best friend Gus own a business called Psych.

Friends

Of course, a classic! I am such a fan of this show just for the storyline and for Monica and Chandler. Netflix has all ten seasons of this iconic show and I love having them on in the background while doing something else (like blogging!). I remember watching this show for the first time during my freshman year of college and then having a show to binge when I wasn’t studying. Years later, Friends is still a go-to for me. You can’t go wrong with this show!

Summary: Rachel Green, Ross Geller, Monica Geller, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing, and Phoebe Buffay are six 20 something year-olds, living off one another in the heart of New York City. Over the course of ten years, this average group of buddies foes through massive mayhem, family trouble, past and future romances, fights, laughs, tears, and surprises as they learn what it really means to be a friend.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

This is a new show for me. I found it while browsing on Netflix and it looked interesting. I’ve been watching it ever since! It’s a comedy/musical show, which fits in well with shows I’ve liked in the past (see: Glee). It’s also funny that the show takes place so close to my university! I do most of my grocery shopping in West Covina. Small world, right?

Summary: A young woman abandons a choice job at a law firm and her life in New a York in an attempt to find happiness in an old flame in the unlikely locale of West Covina, California.

Orange is the New Black

I’ve been writing about how I have been rewatching this show since last month! This is one of Netflix’s most popular original shows and has been since it debuted. While quite graphic and vulgar, this show is well done and delves into the lives of inmates, portraying them as people instead of just inmates (as compared to other prison shows). The writing of this show is amazing and jumps between the characters throughout the show flawlessly. Give it a watch!

Summary: Convicted of a decade old crime of transporting drug money to an ex-girlfriend, normally law-abiding Piper Chapman is sentenced to a year and a half behind bars to face the reality of how life-changing prison can really be.

These are the shows that I haven’t stopped watching! Both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video have some of the best selections out there. I recommend all of these shows depending on your tastes! No matter what you prefer, one of these shows is definitely for you. Have you watched any of them? Let me know down in the comments! As always, thanks for reading!

Love,

Kaitlin
