One of my friends had her birthday over the weekend and I wanted to bake something delicious for her. Since I have to drive back to Pomona to give them to her, I needed to make a dessert that would travel well (this immediately reduced the chance of making cupcakes or cake). After scrolling through Pinterest in search of the perfect recipe, I found one for chocolate chip cookies that sounded amazing. Without further ado, here is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe I have ever made!
- 8tbsp salted butter
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/4 light brown sugar
- 1tsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt (a little extra is okay, too!)
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
After preheating your oven to 350 degrees, mix the sugars and melted butter together (I microwaved my butter for about thirty seconds to get the perfect consistency). Then add the vanilla and egg and beat until smooth. Then add the rest of the ingredients until you have a doughy consistency. I folded in my chocolate chips by hand and balled them out to small shapes and placed them on the pan. I baked mine for 11-13 minutes to get a good exterior with warm and chewy insides.
It all took about twenty five minutes, including the time for the cookies to bake! It was so easy and yielded the best cookie I have ever made; which is saying something for an avid baker like myself.
I highly recommend this recipe, it’s to die for! My friend loved her cookies and I saved the recipe immediately. I will definitely be using it in the future for events or special occasions. Would you want to try this recipe? Let me know! And, as always, thank you so much for reading!
