My February Favorites!

Another month of 2020 has passed! I feel like February passed just a tad quicker than January, but I’m not complaining. I got to try a bunch of new stuff this month, which I am very thankful for. I got to try a new fitness class, find an old favorite show, and find some new fun things to try. Here are my favorite things from the month of February!

Barre

I’m sure you saw my blog post last week about my first ever barre class (hint: I really enjoyed it). Barre is great for those who want to tone their arms, legs, and bodies without using huge weights. With the small yet challenging isometric movements, this class had me working way harder than I had ever imagined. I am fortunate to be able to take classes at my on-campus recreational center. Since I am graduating from my college in May, I’m starting to look into different ways that I can continue taking barre classes. Companies like PureBarre are catching my eye, but it is a bit more expensive that I had thought. I hope that I can find ways to continue taking barre classes once I am done with school! I recommend this class to anyone who wants to try it, it’s a bunch of fun!

Criminal Minds

There is a reason why this show is a cult favorite. I have watched this show before and would finish a couple of seasons before moving onto another show (I have a very short media attention span, as it seems). Right now, I have been watching this show like crazy. Studying and work are both taking up a lot of my time, but when I catch an open hour or two, this is the show that I turn to. I like how much the characters develop over the course of the seasons and how the characters all care about each other so much. I think it’s a decently-written show (true fans will know what I’m talking about!) with some good plot arcs. It’s on Netflix and with the final episode airing just a few days ago, it’s the perfect time to start watching!

Collagen Add Ins

Lauren Elizabeth has been a big reason as to why I am trying to include more and more collagen in my everyday life. In all of her videos about beauty and skincare, she talks about how our bodies stop producing collagen sometime in our early twenties. As someone who just turned 21, I am a bit anxious. I have found two different ways to incorporate collagen into my diet without too much fuss or hassle and I want to share them with you! The Vital Proteins Beauty Collagen in Strawberry Lemon has been a favorite of mine this past month. I am a huge advocate for drinking as much water as possible and this collagen add in makes it easier to want to be hydrated! It’s so easy to make and they have travel packets as well for when you’re on the go! I got mine at Target. The other add in that I have been enjoying is the Rae Wellness Vegan Collagen Boost Capsules. I take a bunch of different vitamins and multivitamins every day and adding these bad boys to my everyday routine was super easy. I’ve been taking them for a few days already and haven’t noticed anything new, but I am sure that by the end of next month I will! I also got these at Target.

The Bachelor

I’ve blogged about the Bachelor before and I’ll do it again. This is pretty much the only reality TV that I will watch on a consistent basis (and will continue to). Peter has been an interesting Bachelor to say the least and there has been a fair amount of drama on this season (Victoria, Sydney, Mykenna, I’m looking at y’all). Nonetheless, I have enjoyed this season because I can watch it with my friends and talk smack about what’s going on with the show. I truly hope that everyone on the show finds what they’re looking for (whether it be love or an endorsement deal), but I love watching this show. It’s iconic for a reason.

HiMirror Smart Scale

This was a sort-of late Christmas gift for myself. I’ve been very conscious of my body after finishing collegiate volleyball and this scale has helped me realize a bunch of things about my body (from different statistics to what I want from my diet and workouts). This was a bit of a big purchase, but I was willing to invest if it meant that I could put in more for my body. With this scale, there are eight different measures that I can use. Body mass index, body fat percentage, muscle mass, basal metabolic rate, water weight, VFL, body type, and of course, weight. I really like this scale because it tracks a bunch of different things about my body and makes it very easy to track everything and see my progress. You might recognize this company as the one with the AI-capable SmartMirror with skin analysis technology. I haven’t looked into that too much, but I can tell you that the scale is a winner!

Those are my favorites for the month of February! Can you tell that I have been very conscious of my health and my body this month? So far I am really enjoying all of the new things that I have been trying and I’m looking forward to finding even more things to try. Leave me a comment if you have any suggestions! And, as always, thank you so much for reading!

Love,
