Happy August! It’s weird–this is the first August in as long as I can remember where I’m not starting a new school year. That’s so strange to me! I always looked forward to school so that I could see all of my friends every day and learn new things. Now, no one knows what the future of school looks like. I’m glad I’m done with education, but my heart still goes out to those who will be affected by the tumultuous conditions of COVID-19.
Without a new school year to focus on, I’ve been able to focus more on content, writing, reading, and taking care of myself. One of the facets I’ve been putting more effort into is my skincare! I’ve been using a bunch of different products to get the best skin possible. Here are some of my favorite products for my summer skincare routine!
Rodan and Fields
Wearing a mask is required every time you leave your home in California, so whenever I’ve been out and about (essential shopping only), I’ve worn a mask. Because of wearing a mask all the time, my chin has broken out. I’ve spoken with a few girlfriends and they’ve all had the same outcome. I’ve had to use more blemish skincare than usual, so it makes sense that Rodan and Fields’s Unblemish routine has taken center stage. You can find the whole routine right here. I like the toner and the dual intensive treatment the best, I find the most results with those two!
Ever since I found out Drunk Elephant works really well with my skin, I’ve been incorporating different products into my daily routine.
E-Rase Milki Micellar Water
This is the cleanser I always use at the end of the day to get any dirt or remnants of anything off my skin. It’s a light and hard-hitting formula that I’m a fan of. I feel like it always gets everything off with a single use. It retails for $28 for 8oz, and can find it directly on the Drunk Elephant website right here. I recommend it!
A-Passionoi Retinol Cream
This was one of the newer items from Drunk Elephant I’ve tried. This is my first time using retinol directly and so far, I’ve been a fan! The 1.0% vegan retinol formula has been helping my skin reach an even tone (my cheeks are usually very rosy, but the retonial is helping it even out). I have the smaller size, which you can find right here, and so far I’m liking it. When I run out, I will most likely purchase the full size.
Protini Polypeptide Cream
I have been using this every day! Moisturizer is so important to a skincare routine (and even more so in a climate like Los Angeles). This formula is light-weight and absorbs quickly, so this is one of the perfect products for this time of year. The Protini polypeptide cream might be my absolute favorite product from DE, so I recommend it to everyone! There are smaller sizes available in mini kits to try out (or ask for a sample from Sephora). Drunk Elephant is one of those brands where you should try the formula before buying the full-sized product just to make sure it will work with your skin.
Those are the products that I have been using nonstop for summer! A lot of them are old favorites that never get old (I’m looking at you, Rodan and Fields). Have you tried any of these products? Do you want to? Let me know down in the comments. And, as always, thank you so much for reading!
