Happy Friday the 13th! August and July were great months for book box subscriptions. I got my first Adult Bookish Box, my first two Illumicrate boxes, and my first ever FairyLoot box! It was the July theme, Tales Retold. I didn’t film my first reactions and I might film an unboxing in a bit (or maybe a Reels on Instagram! @high.lady.of.the.book.court). The box was absolutely amazing and I’m so happy that this was my first box.
The featured book of the month was Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim. FairyLoot did a wonderful job on making this book the most beautiful one ever. There is an exclusive cover, stencil and sprayed edges, foil embossing on the hardback, art on the reverse dust jacket, and signed by the author. I have included pictures of this book below!
I was lucky enough to also snag the FairyLoot editions of the Blood of the Stars duology by Elizabeth Lim. I haven’t read any of her books yet, but I have heard nothing but wonderful things. I cannot wait to read Spin the Dawn and Unravel the Dusk when FairyLoot ships out those books later this year. I heard that one of the characters from the Blood of the Stars duology is mentioned in Six Crimson Cranes!
Other items in the box were a cute tin with a false bottom, socks, a book sleeve, an art print with accompanying bookmark, another art print, an umbrella, and more! I loved each item and I can’t wait to see what the next box will include!
