How I Like to Relax!

Life can get super busy. Especially in college and being an athlete, there’s always a lot on my plate. While I love juggling everything, sometimes I need to relax and have a little time to myself. These are my favorite ways to do so!

Reading

I love reading. I can lose myself in a good novel and forget everything around me while reading about the characters. The best books I have ever read have been the ones that make me feel the emotions of the characters. It’s so relaxing for me to be transcended to a different world and see how their story unfolds. I’ve read over twenty books this summer and it was one of the more relaxing summers I’ve had!

Manicure/Pedicure

When I’m not in season for volleyball and playing over twelve hours a week, I like to have my nails painted perfectly. During season, I usually paint my nails myself so I don’t mind if it chips while playing. But when I truly want to relax, I like getting a mani-pedi. It’s so nice to feel pampered! Pedicures are great, too.

Napping

Very simple and very relaxing! It’s a great way to catch up on rest and let my body recover from everything. As much as I have on my plate, I usually try to get around eight hours of sleep a night. If I don’t get a solid eight during the night, I try to make up for the lost time with a nap! I always feel refreshed and rested, which is when I feel the most relaxed.

Netflix

Another easy fix to getting some me time! I’m currently on the last season of Drop Dead Diva and I’m so excited to see how it ends. When I just want something on in the background, I usually put on FriendsThe Office, and Parks and Rec. I’ve seen every episode of these shows, so I don’t mind if I’m not completely paying attention to the plot while I do homework or browse social media on my phone.
