Healthy Smoothie Recipes!

I’ve been really into smoothies lately! They’re super easy to make and very filling. I love the variety of ingredients you can use to mix it up (pardon the pun!). I like using protein powder as one of the staples in every smoothie because I usually have them right after a workout or as breakfast.

Strawberry Vanilla Smoothie

My regular smoothie before researching all of the other recipes is only comprised of three simple ingredients: vanilla protein powder, frozen strawberries, and vanilla bean ice cream. The ice cream isn’t the healthiest, of course (why is which I researched three additional healthy smoothie recipes), but it tastes so delicious! It’s an easy recipe that only takes a few minutes to prepare and is super filling (thank you, protein powder!). I usually make it after a weight-lifting session as a snack in lieu of a heavy lunch. I highly recommend this smoothie when you’re looking for something sweet!

Strawberry Banana Protein Smoothie

Another strawberry smoothie recipe (can you guess my favorite fruit?) but with healthier ingredients than the last one! Here is the step-by-step process to make this delicious drink: blend together 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk, 1 cup quartered strawberries, 1 banana (frozen), 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, protein powder, and, if you want a bit more sweetness, some raw honey. By combining all of these items, you get an amazing Strawberry Banana Protein smoothie! I’m really looking forward to using this recipe this week.

Orange Banana Smoothie

Sticking with the fruit idea, we have another great recipe. Who doesn’t want the additional benefits of all that Vitamin C? You can start off spring with the best vitamins you can find. To make this smoothie, all you have to do is blend 1-1.5 cups of freshly squeezed orange juice (about four oranges), 1 tablespoon of lime juice, 1 cup of halved strawberries, 1-1.5 ripe bananas, and protein powder (optional). How good does that sound? This can be a great breakfast substitute when in a rush or wanting something a bit on the lighter side. You can count on me trying out this recipe!

Raspberry Vanilla Smoothie

The final recipe might just be the most delicious. I have a weakness for sweet things, such as vanilla. Whenever it’s used in something, I’m always wanting to try it out. Here’s the recipe! Blend together 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of water, 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt, 1 cup of frozen raspberries, 1/2 cup of apple juice, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2 cups of ice. I don’t know if I want that much sugar going into my smoothies, but I think you can cut out as much as you can handle for taste. To each their own! Like I had said before, I’m a fan of the autonomy offered by smoothies.

Those are the healthy smoothie recipes that I have found and want to try! You can find a lot more from tasty.com. If you want to find more recipes, drop a comment down below and I’ll see what I can find. As always, thank you so much for reading!

Love,

Kaitlin
