Summer Snacks!

Summer is officially upon us (or me, at least)! I am so excited for summer break because there are so many fun things to do, see, and eat. The snacks I consume during summer are some of the best snacks ever, and I just had to share them! Here are some of the best snacks for this time of year:

Fruit

My favorite fruits are in season and I could not be happier. Strawberries, cantaloupe, blueberries, and more. I still have sugar cravings all of the time and these fruits help me quench that craving. It’s so nice to have a bowl of strawberries with a little bit of sugar drizzled over them, or blueberries and cantaloupe by themselves. There’s also dragonfruit, mango, and oranges! I love the dried/candied mangos from Trader Joe’s and I adore blood oranges (both the fruit and the lemonade you can make with them!). There are just so many options to choose from; you can’t go wrong! What’s your favorite fruit?

Smoothies

Smoothies are the best, especially when combined with some of the fruit mentioned above. My favorite slightly unhealthy fruit smoothie includes banana, frozen strawberries, protein powder, and some ice cream for taste and texture. Healthy Milkshakes*

I put the asterisk next to the title because the best milkshakes aren’t the healthiest. I recently heard about a milkshake with very few ingredients: ice cubes, milk, and chocolate powder. With those three items, you can whip up an easy milkshake comparable to a Wendy’s Frosty! I know I’m going to try it soon. What are your homemade milkshake recipes? Let me know down in the comments!

Homemade Juice Popsicles

The last snack worth mentioning is healthy than the aforementioned milkshakes. My personal favorite is mixing Ribena, a British currant additive, to water and freezing it, making the perfect summer popsicle. You can do this with apple juice, lemonade, orange juice, and basically any other fruit based liquid you can think of!

These are the best summer snacks that I have found! I enjoy all of them immensely and rotate between them as needed. What are your favorite summer snacks? I would love to know!
